Agents & Music Kits FAQ
How do I select and equip a different agent?
Navigate to the "Agents" section from the CS2 main menu. CT-side operatives can only be worn when playing Counter-Terrorist, and T-side operatives are exclusive to the Terrorist team. You need to own the agent in your inventory before it becomes available to equip, and you can set a separate agent for each faction.
What is the typical price range for agents?
The majority of agents trade for somewhere between $8 and $20 on the Steam Community Market. Older operatives or those tied to early operations can climb well above that range because of shrinking supply. Agent bundles and collections sometimes offer a way to pick up multiple character skins at once.
Are agents restricted to specific maps or modes?
Not at all. Agents are purely cosmetic and work across every map and game mode in CS2. Equipping a particular operative provides zero gameplay advantage — it is entirely about personalising how your character looks in-game.
What qualifies an agent as a Master Agent?
Master Agents sit at the Elite tier and feature bespoke character designs with their own backstory. They originate from premium operations and carry accordingly higher market prices. Because of their exclusive origins and distinctive aesthetics, Elite-tier operatives are the most sought-after agents among collectors.
Where can I pick up a music kit?
Music kits are available on the Steam Community Market, as rewards bundled with operation passes, or through direct purchase. Standalone kits generally fall in the $5-8 USD range, though rare or discontinued selections can command higher prices.
What parts of the game does a music kit change?
A music kit replaces the default audio cues for menu screens, buy phase, round starts and endings, bomb timer warnings, and several other in-game moments. Every kit features original compositions tailored to each scenario. In casual play, only you hear your equipped music kit — teammates and opponents hear their own.
Do any agents have limited availability?
Yes. Agents tied to specific operations were only obtainable during those events, making them progressively scarcer as time passes. Operatives from early operations such as Wildfire and Hydra have become collector items, and their market prices reflect that diminishing supply.
Can agents and music kits be bought and sold on the market?
They can, provided the items are flagged as tradeable. Most agents and music kits listed on the Steam Community Market are freely exchangeable. However, certain store-exclusive or operation-bound items carry trade restrictions that prevent immediate resale after acquisition.
